Junior IT Technician

About the role

Our client in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, is looking for a motivated Junior IT Technician to provide first‑ and second‑line support within a fast‑paced logistics environment. You will help keep the entire IT infrastructure running smoothly, ensuring minimal downtime for users.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑ and second‑line support for hardware, software and network incidents.
• Maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops and peripheral devices in a 24/7 setting.
• Install, configure and support Microsoft Office, Outlook and other business applications.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (IP, DHCP, DNS) to maintain connectivity.
• Support Windows environments and assist with server/Exchange related issues.
• Liaise with external vendors for repairs, maintenance and procurement of IT equipment.
• Document incidents, maintain logs and produce weekly performance reports.
• Escalate complex issues to senior teams and assist with IT projects and after‑hours support when required.

Required profile

• Entry‑level IT background with a willingness to learn.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills for interacting with users and vendors.
