Junior IT Hardware Technician

About the role

Our client, South Africa’s leading asset rental company, is seeking a motivated Junior IT Hardware Technician to join their technical warehouse team. You will be responsible for configuring, testing, repairing and deploying laptops, desktops and all‑in‑one devices across multiple OEM brands.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hardware upgrades, downgrades and component replacements on laptops, desktops and AIO devices.
• Install, configure and image Windows 10/11 operating systems using standard deployment tools.
• Configure BIOS settings and firmware to meet client specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults, carrying out basic repairs as needed.
• Conduct device testing, quality control and preparation for dispatch.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and hardware status.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets while adhering to warehouse safety standards.

Required profile

• 2–3 years’ experience in a technical hardware or IT support environment.
• CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification (or equivalent).
• Experience with Tier 1 OEM brands such as Dell, HP or Lenovo.
• Exposure to Apple macOS and Linux/Ubuntu environments.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume warehouse setting.
