Junior Engineer / Engineering Technologist – Civil Engineering

About the role

This entry‑level position supports the design and documentation of civil infrastructure projects. Working under senior engineers, you will produce accurate drawings, perform basic calculations and apply relevant standards to deliver cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply design codes such as SANS and municipal guidelines under supervision.
• Prepare project drawings using company templates, title blocks and layering standards.
• Assist in designing fibre, roads, ducting, earthworks, storm‑water, sewer and water reticulation systems.
• Support basic engineering calculations and quantity take‑offs for cost estimation.
• Extract and interpret measurement data from surveys, maps and technical drawings.
• Conduct basic quality checks on design outputs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or diploma holder in civil engineering or related field.
• Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow internal drafting standards.
