Junior Data Scientist

About the role

Join the Vitality Actuarial & Data Science (VADS) team to build intelligent products that shape how members experience health and financial services. You will work hands‑on from idea to production, delivering machine‑learning solutions that impact millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end development and deployment of ML/LLM models on GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery) and/or Azure Databricks.
• Write clean, production‑ready code and monitor model performance after launch.
• Explore data, ask critical questions, prototype quickly, and turn insights into actionable products.
• Stay current with AI, ML and LLM advancements and share learnings with the team.
• Collaborate with engineers, actuaries and fellow data scientists, explaining work to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Document solutions to enable reuse and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Curious, self‑driven junior professional eager to take ownership of real problems.
• Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly.
• Interest in behavioural science and how data‑driven products influence health outcomes.

Required skills

• Applied Machine Learning and LLM development (model building, evaluation, fine‑tuning, productionisation).
• Production discipline: clean code, version control, monitoring.
• Cloud‑native data science on GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery) and/or Azure Databricks.
• Version control systems (e.g., Git).
