Junior Credit Analyst

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing South African FinTech, is looking for a Junior Credit Analyst to join its high‑performing Credit Team. You will work at the intersection of finance, data and technology, helping to shape credit decisions that enable SMEs to access funding quickly and responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex financial and credit data to support informed credit decisions.
• Assess customer financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Identify trends, anomalies, potential fraud risks and financial concerns.
• Support and contribute to intelligent credit assessment processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve systems and processes.
• Deliver accurate, insightful analysis in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in credit analysis, management consulting, auditing or a similarly analytical environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Strong financial acumen with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot patterns, trends and risk indicators.
• Intellectual curiosity, commercial awareness and a passion for supporting South Africa’s SME sector.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, Pivot Tables, What‑If analysis).
