Junior Construction Manager

About the role

Our client is looking for a dynamic Junior Construction Manager to lead construction operations on industrial, commercial or petrochemical projects in Cape Town. You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Lead, mentor and supervise site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and monitor construction schedules, resource allocation and project progress.
• Enforce strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers and other stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, cost control, procurement and reporting.
• Resolve technical and operational challenges efficiently.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates and completion documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of construction management experience, preferably in industrial, petrochemical, oil & gas, mining or large‑scale commercial environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts and project planning.
• Excellent understanding of occupational health & safety legislation and construction regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
