Junior Accountant – SAIPA/SAICA Qualified

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Cape Town. The role is ideal for candidates who have recently completed their SAIPA articles and want to develop a broad range of accounting skills under the guidance of the Assistant Financial Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
• Monitor stock movements, perform reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Review supplier reconciliations, accruals and month‑end journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and ensure statutory compliance.
• Assist with product development accounting and costing.
• Provide payroll support as needed.
• Maintain financial master data and accounting records.
• Support internal and external audit processes and continuous improvement of finance procedures.

Required profile

• BCom degree or equivalent qualification.
• Completed SAIPA articles with an accounting firm.
• Recent completion of articles or relevant accounting experience.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
