Junior Accountant – R25k CTC per month

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Johannesburg. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with full‑cycle accounting, supporting the preparation of financial statements and ensuring accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial accounting up to general ledger (GL) level, including reconciliations for all applicable accounts.
• Prepare and analyse GL reports, loan and inter‑company loan reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and ensure proper depreciation entries.
• Follow up on debtor balances, review ageing reports, and support credit control activities.
• Monitor creditor balances, review ageing, and assist with timely payments.
• Execute bank statement imports and perform bank reconciliations.
• Review captured invoices for accuracy, approve them for GL posting and VAT compliance.
• Calculate, complete and submit VAT returns in accordance with statutory deadlines.

Required profile

• Accounting degree or diploma preferred.
• Self‑starter with strong discipline and ability to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel – ability to apply formulas effectively in accounting contexts.
