Junior Accountant – Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Johannesburg. The role offers hands‑on experience in daily accounting operations, supporting senior staff and contributing to accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily receipts, payments and journal entries in the general ledger.
• Process accounts payable – verify vendor invoices, track bills and schedule payments.
• Handle accounts receivable – issue invoices, monitor collections and post incoming funds.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations and assist with month‑end closing activities.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in ledger accounts.
• Prepare basic management reports, balance sheets and income statements.
• Support audit preparation and assist with periodic tax filing documentation.

Required profile

• B‑Com degree in Accounting.
• Experience with Aplifin of Hifin, Payat and Peach.
• Familiarity with Syspro accounting system.
• Background in retail or telecom is an advantage.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R 30 000 to R 35 000 per month, dependent on experience.
