Junior Accountant / Debtors Controller

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Accountant / Debtors Controller to join the finance team in Midrand. The role focuses on managing the full debtors cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections and reconciliations while supporting broader accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete debtors function, including invoicing, collections and account reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and maintain a healthy debtor ageing schedule.
• Process receipts and allocate customer payments accurately.
• Perform monthly debtor reconciliations and assist with general accounting tasks.
• Prepare financial reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Capture and process transactions in Pastel Evolution.
• Liaise with customers to resolve account queries.
• Support the finance team with ad‑hoc administrative and accounting duties.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a Junior Accountant or Debtors Controller role.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (advantageous).
• Proven track record in managing debtor functions.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Ability to work independently, pay strong attention to detail and meet deadlines.
