Junior Accountant – Contract Position

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our client’s on‑site finance team in Gauteng. This contract role offers a supportive environment where you can develop your accounting expertise while contributing to accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and process journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items and financial discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with policies and accounting standards.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a junior accounting or similar finance role.
• Proven experience with bank and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
