IT Systems Manager

About the role

The IT Systems Manager reports to the Director of IT for EMEA and is responsible for delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 support across Marriott’s Cape Town and Johannesburg offices as well as remote locations. The role ensures the stability, security, and performance of the IT infrastructure while supporting associates both on‑site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 IT support (remote and deskside) for Cape Town, Johannesburg and remote sites.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end‑user devices.
• Ensure IT security compliance across all systems and equipment.
• Handle moves, adds, and changes for new hires, leavers, transfers, and office moves.
• Install, configure and maintain laptops, mobiles, AV tools, servers, and networking equipment.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services and user access (ID creation, permissions).
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity tools and plans.
• Oversee third‑party suppliers, approve invoices and manage IT support mailboxes to meet SLA targets.
• Maintain telephony systems, AV setups, and meeting‑room technology.
• Support regional IT projects and provide occasional onsite coverage in EMEA.

Required profile

• Experience in desktop and server support environments (physical, virtual, and cloud‑based).
• Strong customer‑service mindset with a focus on user satisfaction.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and operations.
• Project‑management exposure is desirable.
• Familiarity with IT security standards and corporate policies.
