IT L3 Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT L3 Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues and to lead the design, optimisation, and support of our enterprise‑wide infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the final escalation point for complex IT issues and critical system failures.
• Perform deep‑dive troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, VMware, Citrix, M365, Azure AD, SQL and DevOps environments.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for high‑impact incidents and implement long‑term solutions.
• Optimise and support enterprise mobility platforms such as Ivanti Neurons, UEM, UMS, iPads and tablets.
• Mentor and support L1/L2 engineers, sharing expertise and best practices.
• Manage and optimise Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux, Active Directory, Exchange (2016/2019/Online) and SharePoint (2016/Online).
• Oversee virtualization platforms including VMware ESX, vCenter, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Netscaler, RSA and FSLogix.
• Architect and maintain backup & disaster‑recovery solutions (Veeam Backup, Replication, iLand, Veeam One, Veeam Monitor).
• Configure and manage SANs, HP servers, replication, UPS and high‑availability environments.
• Deploy and utilise PRTG Enterprise Monitoring to improve incident management.
• Lead network troubleshooting and optimisation (DNS/DHCP, routing, switching, Meraki, SilverPeak, VPNs, VoIP, Brocade Fibre, Palo Alto, HPE, Cisco).
• Strengthen enterprise security policies and deploy solutions such as Darktrace, Zscaler and CrowdStrike.
• Manage DevOps pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio) and automate tasks with PowerShell, Python or other scripting tools.
• Optimise SQL environments (SQL 2016/2019, DBA, Reporting Services, Integration Services, Power BI, Analysis Services) and lead infrastructure projects including cloud migrations and security hardening.

Required profile

• Proven experience troubleshooting Windows, Linux, VMware, Citrix, M365, Azure AD, SQL and DevOps environments.
• Ability to mentor and support L1/L2 engineers.
• Strong understanding of enterprise mobility platforms (Ivanti, iPads, tablets).
• Experience leading root‑cause analysis for high‑impact incidents.
• Familiarity with backup, disaster‑recovery and SAN technologies.
• Experience with network troubleshooting, security policies and firewall/VPN solutions.
