IT Governance Specialist

About the role

The IT Governance Specialist reports to the Head of Business Technology and is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing IT governance frameworks. This role ensures alignment between IT strategy and business objectives, maintains regulatory compliance, and manages IT risks across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive IT governance frameworks aligned with industry standards.
• Develop IT policies, procedures and standards for the organisation.
• Create governance metrics and KPIs to monitor performance.
• Ensure alignment between IT strategy and business objectives.
• Monitor compliance with IT‑related regulations and conduct risk assessments.
• Oversee IT audit activities and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Manage IT compliance reporting and documentation.
• Develop and monitor IT performance dashboards and service level agreements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Standardise IT service delivery and implement change‑management procedures.
• Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within IT operations.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in IT governance, audit, compliance or risk management.
• Proven ability to design and implement IT governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of business processes, regulatory requirements and cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards.
• Experience with IT audit, risk assessment and compliance reporting.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture, IT service management and cybersecurity principles.
