Inventory Manager

About the role

Latitude Resource is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead inventory planning and warehouse operations for its manufacturing site in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. The role focuses on optimizing raw‑material availability, reducing waste and ensuring seamless production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all inventory management activities across the manufacturing operation.
• Maintain optimal raw‑material levels to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee goods receiving, storage safety, warehouse layout and stock‑taking cycles.
• Coordinate monthly cycle counts, annual stock takes and support finance during reconciliations and audits.
• Develop procurement plans, monitor forecasts and collaborate with Procurement on local and imported material planning.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance and assist with negotiations to improve lead times and pricing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at inventory optimisation and cost reduction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to balance inventory costs and production needs.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration with Production, Procurement, Finance and Executive teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory transactions and reporting.
• Experience conducting cycle counts, stock reconciliations and inventory analysis.
