About the role

We are seeking an International Sales Manager to lead new‑business development for a well‑established inbound tour operator in Southern Africa. Based in Durban, this hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) focuses on acquiring and activating wholesale travel partners, initially targeting Latin America.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, target and acquire new international wholesale partners across assigned source markets.
  • Develop and execute market‑specific sales and entry plans aligned with business strategy.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, net rates, overrides and volume commitments.
  • Open, contract, activate and scale new trade partnerships from first contact through production.
  • Maintain a measurable pipeline with disciplined oversight of conversion and momentum.
  • Deliver partner training, trade presentations and market engagement activities such as trade shows and roadshows.
  • Monitor partner performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions.
  • Translate market intelligence into go‑to‑market strategies and product positioning recommendations.
  • Collaborate with product, operations and finance teams to ensure deliverable sales commitments.
  • Prepare accurate forecasting and commercial assessments for new partners and markets.

Required profile

  • 7–10 years of experience in the inbound travel industry, preferably with a focus on wholesale partnerships.
  • Proven track record of developing international travel trade relationships and turning opportunities into profitable long‑term business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage extended sales cycles.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to pipeline growth and market opportunity identification.
