International Logistics Manager

About the role

The International Logistics Manager will lead Villa Crop Protection’s global logistics function, ensuring the efficient, compliant and cost‑effective movement of goods across import and export channels. This senior role combines strategic planning with hands‑on management of customs, freight and third‑party logistics providers to support business growth and customer service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee timely import of products as per organisational requests.
• Oversee all import and export activities across designated markets, ensuring compliance with SARS Customs, international trade regulations and internal policies.
• Optimize freight, logistics and landed costs through effective planning, accurate customs clearances, shipping documentation and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain high‑performing relationships with third‑party logistics providers, suppliers and customers.
• Manage logistics risks, disruptions and business continuity requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, systems and service levels.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing International Logistics team.
• Set and achieve departmental KPI targets related to cost, compliance, service, inventory availability and operational efficiency.
• Provide accurate reporting, performance analysis and decision‑support for senior management.

Required profile

• Diploma or BCom degree (preferred) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in clearing agency, international logistics, freight forwarding, imports/exports or trade compliance.
• At least 2 years in a management role overseeing end‑to‑end import and export operations.
• Proven experience with sea, air and road freight movements and working with customs clearing agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and transport providers.
• Experience in tariff classification, customs valuation, duty management and trade compliance is a strong advantage.
