Internal Control Accountant

About the role

Hollywoodbets is seeking an Internal Control Accountant to join its Purple Team in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal. You will help build a robust control environment for the iBranch operation, ensuring all financial transactions are auditable, accurate, and protected against loss.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior accountants and the Group iBranch Accountant to collect and analyse data, identifying reconciliation weaknesses and residual risks.
• Maintain and reconcile all transactions in Pastel, including mobile vouchers and tax data (Tax2/Tax3), to guarantee correct gambling tax payments.
• Implement and monitor controls for third‑party integrations, ensuring transactions remain auditable.
• Escalate unresolved client debit balances and variances according to standard operating procedures.
• Support development and operations teams during testing of new products and system upgrades.
• Oversee deployment of new reconciliation software, ensuring daily sign‑offs and accurate financial records.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and produce daily reports summarising key reconciliation outcomes.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Minimum 2 years of practical auditing or accounting experience.
• Completed Matric with English and Mathematics.
• SAICA articles completed (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel accounting software.
• Knowledge of Pastel Evolution.
