Internal Control Accountant

About the role

The Internal Control Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organisation. Working closely with senior accountants and the iBranch team, you will be responsible for reconciling transactions, implementing controls, and supporting new product deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and reconcile financial data, including mobile vouchers and tax (Tax2/Tax3) information.
• Maintain accurate records in Pastel and ensure all transactions are properly accounted for.
• Implement and monitor controls for third‑party integrations to guarantee auditable transactions.
• Escalate unreconciled client debit balances and variances according to SOP timeframes.
• Collaborate with development and operational teams to test new products and ensure supporting financial reports are reliable.
• Oversee deployment of new reconciliation software and ensure daily sign‑offs are completed.
• Support junior staff, resolve variances, and produce daily summary reports.
• Identify and remediate weaknesses in procedures, policies and internal control frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, relevant laws and iBranch risk registers.
