Internal Communications Manager (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Internal Communications Manager will design, develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication framework that aligns with the organisation’s strategic objectives. This fixed‑term role focuses on ensuring staff understand the company’s vision, goals and change initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an internal communications plan that supports the corporate communication strategy.
• Craft clear, accurate, and engaging messages for newsletters, intranet, brochures and other internal channels.
• Identify and manage communication channels and tools to reach all staff effectively.
• Maintain editorial standards and apply internal branding in line with the company style guide.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to ensure visual consistency across communications.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and support strategic communication projects.
• Define and monitor metrics to evaluate the impact of communication initiatives.
• Coordinate communication streams for multiple projects and change programmes, ensuring timely delivery to the right audiences.

Required profile

• 3‑year degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or equivalent (NQF level 6).
• Post‑graduate qualification is an advantage.
• Proven experience in internal communications, organisational behaviour or change communications within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of communication structures, platforms and emerging technologies.
• Experience in developing and implementing internal communication plans and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
