Intermediate Software Engineer – Kotlin/Java/Scala

About the role

JUMO is looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to help build its market‑leading Banking‑as‑a‑Service platform. You will work on a highly scalable, distributed system that powers real‑time financial services for partners and their customers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end features across the software development lifecycle, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Help define the team’s roadmap aligned with company and technology vision.
• Architect services using proven design patterns for autonomous development and future scaling.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and support backend and data‑streaming services.
• Review peer code, provide feedback, and champion production‑ready, testable code.
• Identify and communicate blockers, delays, or cost risks early.
• Contribute to documentation, educational content, and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Kotlin, Java or Scala and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).
• Hands‑on experience designing, developing and testing high‑volume, low‑latency services.
• Business and operational awareness of fintech or banking‑as‑a‑service domains.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse, cross‑functional team.
