About the role

OfferZen is seeking an experienced Mobile Engineer to join their team in Cape Town. This hybrid role blends remote work with in‑office collaboration at their City Centre location. The role focuses on building exceptional mobile applications and guiding development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development projects from planning and requirement gathering through deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineering teams to define scope, features and technical specifications.
• Champion coding standards, architectural guidelines and industry best practices.
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and technical support.
• Conduct and lead code reviews, offering feedback and identifying improvements.
• Solve complex technical challenges with creative, analytical approaches.

Required profile

• A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Minimum five years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on mobile application development.
• Proficiency in key mobile development technologies and programming languages used by the team.
• Practical experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Exceptional problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
