Information Technologist – IT Support & Systems Administration

About the role

Our client, a well‑established food and beverage organisation, is looking for a proactive Information Technologist on a contract basis. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining and securing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software and network services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers, servers, network equipment and security devices.
• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, email and network issues.
• Maintain LAN, Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity and enforce network security policies.
• Monitor servers, backup solutions and antivirus tools; perform regular data backups and recovery tests.
• Support ERP, accounting, warehouse and production applications, including SAGE where applicable.
• Assist users with system queries and coordinate with external vendors when needed.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) minimum; IT‑related certificate or diploma is advantageous.
• 2‑4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration or a similar role.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and document processes accurately.

Required skills

• Windows operating systems
• Microsoft 365
• TCP/IP networking, routers, switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi environments
• Network configuration and database management
• Server administration, backup solutions and cybersecurity tools
• Familiarity with SAGE ERP (advantageous)
• Experience with CCTV, biometric attendance and access‑control systems (preferred)
