Hub Supervisor – Temporary (Durban)

About the role

The Hub Supervisor will lead daily warehouse operations in Durban on a temporary basis, ensuring that goods are received, stored, picked, packed and shipped efficiently and safely. You will be the key point of contact for the warehouse team and will drive performance against operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping.
• Lead, train and motivate a diverse team of warehouse staff.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Implement quality‑control measures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and monitor key performance indicators.
• Coordinate maintenance of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and conveyors.
• Collaborate with customer service and logistics teams to fulfil orders on time.
• Generate regular reports on inventory, productivity and safety incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends or overtime.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Forklift certification and operation.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA safety regulations.
