Hotel Trainer

About the role

The Hotel Trainer joins the centralised Human Resources team supporting both Oude Werf Hotel and Stellenbosch Hotel. Reporting to the Head of HR and General Managers, you will drive a culture of service excellence by designing, delivering and facilitating training across all hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual training plans for both properties.
• Conduct classroom sessions and on‑the‑floor coaching for staff at all levels.
• Create and maintain training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and induction programmes.
• Lead seasonal staff training and assess learning outcomes to identify service gaps.
• Implement targeted training interventions to improve employee performance and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor training effectiveness and support compliance reporting.
• Collaborate closely with department heads and operational teams to align training with operational standards.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Training, Human Resources, Education or a related field (NQF 5).
• Assessor/Facilitator certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality training, guest relations, front office, food & beverage or hotel operations.
• Strong facilitation, coaching and presentation abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, assertive and results‑driven with strong planning and organisational capabilities.
