Hotel General Manager

About the role

Sataya is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a distinguished wine estate hotel in the Cape Winelands. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership across rooms, food & beverage, leisure, tour guiding and reservations.

Key responsibilities

• Take full accountability for day‑to‑day hotel operations, especially the rooms division and reservations function.
• Lead all operational departments – front office, housekeeping, tour guiding, leisure services and HR – and maintain consistent guest‑facing standards.
• Develop and execute revenue‑management strategies for peak and low seasons, monitoring pricing, occupancy and yield.
• Manage budgets, ensure financial targets are met, and protect performance during quieter periods.
• Maintain high quality standards, resolve guest feedback promptly, and champion service excellence.
• Drive team training, development and performance management, fostering a culture of independent problem‑solving.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (non‑negotiable).
• Proven experience in rooms‑division operations and revenue management within a luxury hospitality setting.
• Strong financial acumen with a track record of meeting budgets and optimizing seasonal performance.
• Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and maintain high service standards.
