Hospital Pharmacist – Randburg

About the role

The Hospital Pharmacist will provide medication and supplementary services to patients and the healthcare team at Netcare Olivedale Hospital. You will ensure safe, cost‑effective medication use while supporting clinical care across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense hospital and retail prescriptions, ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal requirements.
• Prepare, issue, and control oncology drugs in line with pharmacy policies.
• Manage Schedule 5 and 6 drugs as a custodian, maintaining accurate records.
• Provide advice on drug selection, dosage, interactions, side effects, and therapeutic effects to patients and staff.
• Offer health‑related information, including primary care, immunisation, family planning and mother‑child services.
• Supervise stock control: acquisition, storage, dispensing, handling, packaging, and expiry management.
• Conduct cyclical and full stock takes and update clinical teams on out‑of‑stock situations.
• Perform related administrative and housekeeping tasks.
