Helpdesk Engineer – Cape Town (CBD)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Helpdesk Engineer to join our team in Cape Town’s CBD. You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone or email, providing fast and effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the 1st line of support for hardware, software and network issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems, recommending the best solution for each case.
• Build, configure, install and repair computer hardware and related devices.
• Support third‑party applications and perform installation and configuration tasks.
• Maintain knowledge of computer networks, router configurations and related protocols.
• Document administrative processes and assist with onboarding of new users.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of help‑desk experience.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware and complex device configurations.
• Professional communication skills and a helpful, customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and solve problems independently.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft operating systems and common network protocols.

Required skills

• CompTIA A+ certification.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
• Experience with computer hardware assembly, repair and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of router configuration and network protocol basics.
• Proficiency in installing and configuring operating systems and third‑party software.
