Head of Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

About the role

The company, a leading renewable energy business delivering solar PV and energy infrastructure solutions across South Africa, is looking for an experienced Head of Customer Relationship Management. Reporting to the South African business leader, you will own strategic customer engagement, key account management, debtor management support, retention, escalation handling and overall customer experience for commercial and industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing CRM and customer management team.
• Own customer retention, satisfaction and long‑term account growth.
• Manage executive‑level relationships across key strategic accounts.
• Drive structured debtor management processes together with finance and commercial teams.
• Oversee customer communications related to operations, maintenance and project delivery.
• Establish CRM governance, reporting standards and process improvements.
• Handle complex customer escalations and service‑related issues.
• Deliver customer insights, reporting and business improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Sales, Operations or a related field.
• 8‑10+ years of experience in customer relationship management, key account management or commercial leadership.
• Proven experience managing client‑facing teams.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, engineering services or other asset‑intensive industries is highly advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
