Handyman Assistant – Potchefstroom

About the role

We are seeking a Handyman Assistant to support our Handy Man in delivering general maintenance and repair services across multiple client sites in Potchefstroom. The role combines hands‑on building tasks with digital reporting using a smartphone.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with carpentry, painting, ceiling repairs, dry‑walling, basic masonry, plumbing, tiling and office furniture repairs.
• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for each site visit.
• Support inspections, identify issues and complete accurate digital job cards, delivery notes and reports via mobile applications.
• Respond promptly to site call‑outs and carry out ad‑hoc repairs or planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Provide feedback to the Handy Man and Operations Manager and ensure compliance with health, safety and client requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in general building or facilities maintenance support.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Ability to use a smartphone and mobile apps for work tracking and reporting.
• Reliable, trustworthy and detail‑oriented with good communication skills.
