Handyman Assistant – General Maintenance Support

About the role

We are seeking a Handyman Assistant to support our Handy Man in delivering routine maintenance and repair services across multiple client sites in Polokwane. The role combines hands‑on building tasks with digital reporting using smartphone applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with carpentry, painting, ceiling repairs, dry‑walling, basic masonry, plumbing, tiling, and office furniture repairs.
• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for each site visit.
• Conduct site inspections, identify issues, and provide accurate digital reports.
• Complete daily administrative tasks such as digital job cards, delivery notes, and service reports via mobile apps.
• Respond promptly to site call‑outs and support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Provide feedback to the Handy Man and Operations Manager and ensure compliance with health, safety, and client requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in general building or facilities maintenance support.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Ability to use a smartphone and mobile applications for reporting and work tracking.
• Reliable, trustworthy, detail‑oriented with good communication skills.
