Handyman Assistant - Durban

About the role

We are seeking a Handyman Assistant to support our Handy Man in delivering general maintenance and repair services across multiple client sites in Durban. The role combines hands‑on building tasks with digital reporting using a smartphone, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Handy Man with general building maintenance and repairs at client locations.
• Perform tasks such as carpentry, painting, ceiling repairs, dry‑walling, basic masonry, plumbing, tiling, and office furniture repairs.
• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for each site visit.
• Conduct inspections, identify issues, and provide accurate reports via mobile applications.
• Complete daily administrative duties, including digital job cards, delivery notes, and reports.
• Respond promptly to site call‑outs and support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Provide feedback to the Handy Man and Operations Manager and adhere to health, safety, and client requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years of experience in general building or facilities maintenance support.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Ability to use a smartphone and mobile applications for reporting and work tracking.
• Good communication skills and a reliable, detail‑oriented work ethic.
