Guidance Consultant – Remote (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Guidance Consultant provides remote telephone and chat support to employees seeking assistance with behavioral health, emotional well‑being, family concerns and overall wellness. Working from Johannesburg, you will conduct clinical assessments, guide clients toward appropriate resources and ensure continuity of care within ComPsych’s Employee Assistance Program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver telephone and chat‑based support, performing in‑depth clinical assessments.
• Refer clients to therapists, counselors or other wellness resources as needed.
• Develop personalized health and wellness strategies using coaching methodologies.
• Maintain compliance with departmental protocols, industry best practices and client‑specific requirements.
• Provide culturally competent, inclusive service to diverse client populations.
• Document all client interactions accurately in the internal database.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, resources and best practices in mental health and employee assistance.

Required profile

• Qualified mental health professional with a focus on clinical excellence and empathy.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, remote environment.
• Strong judgment, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Based in South Africa, preferably Johannesburg.
