Group Legal Advisor

About the role

Afrirent Holdings is seeking a Group Legal Advisor to provide an integrated legal, risk and compliance function and service for the group.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Head of Legal and Compliance.
• Provide proactive, sound, effective and professional legal advice, support, opinions and draft contracts and documentation, and manage litigation and disputes on behalf of Afrirent.
• Assist in developing and implementing the Enterprise Risk Management function, responding to group-wide risks and ensuring proper risk governance processes and tools.
• Deliver compliance services to ensure adherence to all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and mentor legal interns and junior members of the legal and compliance team.

Required profile

• LLB degree or equivalent and admission as an Attorney/Advocate.
• 2‑5 years’ experience as a legal counsel, practice lawyer or legal advisor in the public or private sector.
• Exposure to corporate, commercial, contracts, risk and/or compliance matters.
• Registration with the LPC or relevant professional body (non‑practising acceptable).
