Group Financial Controller

About the role

Comtel Communication, a leading ISP in South Africa, is looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to oversee finance and administration across multiple legal entities. The role combines financial stewardship with comprehensive compliance and administration responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance functions, including accounting records, management reporting, cash‑flow management and financial controls.
• Lead the accounts and administration team, allocating tasks and monitoring completion.
• Maintain a central compliance calendar and ensure timely submissions, renewals and supporting documentation for all group companies.
• Oversee company insurance policies, pension fund, medical scheme, banking mandates and statutory records.
• Coordinate CIPC annual returns, beneficial‑ownership filings, ICASA documentation, ISPA membership and other industry licences.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, insurers, benefit providers and regulatory advisers.
• Identify and monitor specialist regulatory matters, report progress and risks to the CEO, and ensure actions are completed.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a financial controller or senior finance manager in a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards, SARS compliance and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance and administration teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on compliance and risk management.
