Group Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading pan‑African business, is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join the finance leadership team in Pretoria. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing group consolidations, financial reporting, governance, audit and compliance across multiple African entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review group consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage multi‑entity reporting and ensure timely, accurate financial information for senior management.
• Oversee governance, audit processes and compliance across all subsidiaries.
• Support strategic decision‑making with robust financial analysis and insights.
• Coordinate with local finance teams in diverse African markets.

Required profile

• CA(SA) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a similar senior finance role.
• Proven experience with group consolidations and multi‑entity reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and multi‑currency environments.
• Experience in mining, engineering, manufacturing or other industrial sectors is advantageous.
• Previous exposure to operations across Africa is highly desirable.
