Group Finance Manager – Cape Town

About the role

The Group Finance Manager will lead the head‑office finance team in Cape Town, reporting to the Group Finance Director and coordinating with subsidiary finance teams. This permanent, office‑based position is central to delivering accurate, timely group financial reporting and ensuring compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly reporting packs and annual financial statements for the group.
• Ensure IFRS compliance, including complex calculations for IFRS 9, IAS 23, IFRS 16 and emerging standards such as IFRS 18.
• Compile quarterly consolidated reports for management committees, analysing variances against budgets.
• Act as primary liaison for external auditors and support internal audit processes.
• Manage tax compliance, including VAT returns, tax computations and liaison with tax authorities.
• Oversee finance team deadlines, streamline processes and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification with at least 7 years post‑articles experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting and IFRS implementation.
• Demonstrated tax compliance experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage cross‑functional teams.
