Group Accountant

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing group of companies operating across multiple entities, is seeking a technically strong and commercially astute Group Accountant (CA(SA)). Reporting to the Group CFO, the role offers exposure to complex group structures, strategic finance initiatives and executive‑level engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, interim and annual group consolidations for all entities.
• Compile and analyse management accounts and reporting packs for executive management and the Board.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Coordinate external audit processes and liaise with auditors and subsidiary finance teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow projections and variance analysis.
• Provide financial commentary and performance insights to the Group CFO.
• Manage collection and roll‑up of financial information from subsidiaries.
• Assist with treasury activities, including cash management, FX exposure and banking relationships.
• Prepare covenant calculations, bank reports and funding presentations.
• Support M&A due‑diligence, post‑acquisition integration and related financial analysis.
• Monitor financial controls, identify risks and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with finance teams to ensure consistency, best practice and reporting accuracy.
• Contribute to finance transformation and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
• Experience in a JSE‑listed or large multi‑entity environment.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and hands‑on experience with group consolidations.
• Exposure to treasury, budgeting, forecasting and audit management.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and present financial information to the Board.
