Graphic Design Intern – Johannesburg/Cape Town

About the role

The Graphic Design Intern will support TFG’s creative team across its Johannesburg and Cape Town offices, helping to translate brand concepts into compelling visual assets for seasonal collections. This role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑moving retail environment and exposure to the full design lifecycle from research to production.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop original graphics that align with brand identity and seasonal themes.
• Maintain high visual quality and originality across all design outputs.
• Conduct trend research and prepare materials for critical path meetings.
• Create CAD drawings, seasonal map sheets, tech packs and supplier briefs.
• Manage the CAD library and seasonal colour palettes.
• Interpret trade patterns and design in line with customer preferences.
• Provide design input for quick‑response projects and continuously drive innovation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills, preferably with a focus on apparel.
• Keen interest in clothing and fashion trends.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Experience with CAD development for fashion design.
