Graduate Role – State Forensic Capability

About the role

We are seeking a graduate to join the State Forensic Capability team at the Financial Intelligence Centre. The role supports the production of affidavits and forensic reports that assist criminal investigations, the recovery of proceeds of crime and prosecutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare affidavits, court‑directed forensic reports and other written products in a clear, professional manner.
• Conduct searches and gather information in response to team requests.
• Collect, consolidate and analyse data required for investigations.
• Complete analysis/profiling and status reports within agreed timelines.
• Follow investigation plans, adhere to deadlines and apply supervisor feedback.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Accountancy, Forensic Accountancy, Law Enforcement/Forensic Investigations, Intelligence, Fraud & Risk Management, Business Mathematics or Informatics.
• Strong report‑writing ability and good command of English.
• Computer literate with a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Understanding of accounting and forensic accounting concepts.
• Basic knowledge of criminal law, procedure and evidence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SAS is an advantage.
• Ability to conduct focused internet searches.
