Graduate Engineer / Technologist (Roads & Highways)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer / Technologist to join our Roads and Highways section in Cape Town (and Pretoria). The role focuses on technical design, reporting and supporting senior engineers on infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft technical reports of acceptable quality and presentation.
• Lead a small team of technicians/draughtsmen on project tasks.
• Query design details and suggest more acceptable solutions.
• Present technical work in meetings and presentations.
• Ensure work follows established procedures and meets time‑ and cost‑targets.
• Check and inspect constructed works for compliance with design specifications.
• Assist with straightforward bid preparation.
• Train technicians/draughtsmen in relevant software tools.
• Manage meeting schedules, agendas and compile minutes.
• Support engineers with design checks, costing and specifications.

Required profile

• B.Eng or B.Tech degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0‑3 years of experience, preferably with civil design projects.
• Previous exposure to civil 3D design and analysis software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to work under moderate supervision and meet deadlines.
