Golf Pro Shop Manager

About the role

The Golf Pro Shop Manager leads front‑of‑house operations for a golf retail environment, ensuring an excellent customer experience and meeting sales targets. This role involves hands‑on interaction with customers and staff, budget oversight, and coordination with club marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set weekly sales and margin budgets for the Golf Shop team and monitor daily performance against targets.
• Analyse stock, sales, and clearance reports to drive store performance.
• Deliver superior customer service, enforce service standards, and spend at least six hours on the sales floor each day.
• Manage cash‑up procedures at the point of sale, ensuring cash and card takings reconcile with reports.
• Maintain merchandising standards, price labeling, and visual presentation according to the merchandising manual.
• Coach and develop team members, identify market gaps, and communicate needs to buyers.
• Execute promotions in line with marketing briefs and collaborate with the Golf Club Marketing and Events team.
• Prepare reports on golf days, sponsorships, and newsletter inserts for club communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or shop management, preferably within sport or golf retail.
• Ability to recruit, induct, and build high‑performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and disciplinary procedures.
• Effective scheduling and leave management skills.
