General Worker – Electrical Section (X3)

About the role

The municipality is seeking three entry‑level General Workers for its Electrical Section. The role involves physical labour, material handling and supporting site activities on municipal roads.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and equipment safely using appropriate tools.
• Place traffic signs to warn road users during excavation work.
• Clean the work area with brooms and manual labour tools to maintain a tidy environment.
• Carry out any labour‑related tasks assigned by the supervisor or superintendent.
• Follow all legal and safety instructions to ensure smooth operation of the section.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 education; Grade 12 is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual ability required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Good physical health and basic capability to perform manual work.
• At least one year of relevant experience in general work within an electrical section of a local government authority.
• Residency within the Midvaal Local Municipality jurisdiction is preferred.

What we offer

• Salary range: R166 392.00 – R182 280.00 per annum (Level 13, Grade 04).
• Total compensation package inclusive of benefits: R307 561.08 per annum.
