About the role
Transnet Company is seeking permanent General Workers and Cleaners for its Pretoria terminal. The role involves opening and closing twist locks on container wagons and performing various cleaning and ad‑hoc duties. The position is entry‑level and suitable for candidates with a Grade 10 qualification who are looking for a stable, hands‑on role in a busy logistics environment.
Key responsibilities
- Open and close twist locks of container wagons.
- Clean buildings, containers and other terminal areas.
- Carry out office and security related tasks as needed.
- Support drivers and machine operators with terminal duties.
- Assist the safety officer in maintaining a safe work environment.
Required profile
- Grade 10 or Level 2 education.
- Physically fit, safety‑conscious and able to work in a team.
- People‑oriented with cultural awareness.
- Basic reading and writing ability.
- Ability to make decisions and communicate effectively.
Required skills
- Cleaning procedures and techniques.
- Time management.
