General Procurement Manager – Technical Business Unit

About the role

Our client, a leading supplier of technical goods and services across Africa, is looking for an experienced General Procurement Manager to lead and expand the General Procurement category within its Technical Business Unit. This senior, hands‑on position requires strong commercial acumen, supplier‑management expertise and the ability to travel throughout African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
• Research target markets, prepare commercial and technical proposals, and conduct local and international business trips.
• Source new suppliers and products globally, negotiate favourable terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Oversee procurement policies, ensure timely order expediting, monitor product quality, pricing and margins.
• Collaborate with the Logistics Department to guarantee successful order fulfilment.
• Supervise the General Procurement team, allocate workloads, monitor performance and conduct staff appraisals.

Required profile

• Background in a technical industry such as Oil & Gas, Mining or Construction.
• Proven management and supervisory experience in procurement or supply‑chain functions.
• Willingness to travel regularly across African countries.
• Senior‑level, hands‑on professional with strong commercial and business‑development capabilities.
