About the role

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a clinically competent General Practitioner committed to high‑quality, ethical medical care within the South African healthcare environment. The role is based at Somerset West Physical Rehabilitation and focuses on delivering primary care services to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across diverse patient populations.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with legal and ethical standards.
• Refer patients appropriately to specialists and allied healthcare professionals.
• Uphold best practices in patient safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree; specialization or advanced training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience, preferably in physical rehabilitation or a related medical environment.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration and leadership is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a high‑pressure, performance‑driven environment with on‑call availability for emergencies and occasional weekend/public‑holiday rounds.
• Exceptional leadership, team‑building, and interpersonal skills for managing multiple stakeholders.
• Adaptability to change and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
