General Practitioner – 2‑Year Contract on St Helena

About the role

Our client, a 28‑bed public hospital on the remote island of St Helena, is seeking a General Practitioner/Family Doctor for a two‑year fixed‑term contract. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in a close‑knit community while gaining experience in a unique, overseas setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients of all ages.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in on‑call duties and emergency response as required.
• Maintain accurate medical records in line with GMC standards.

Required profile

• Fluent English communication skills.
• Current GMC registration or equivalent qualification from Europe, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa.
• Minimum of 7 years post‑specialisation experience.
• Availability to start as soon as possible.
