General Manager

About the role

The General Manager (Property Custodian) leads Blue Marlin All-Inclusive Seascape, a premier beachfront resort on South Africa's KwaZulu‑Natal South Coast. Reporting to Dream Hotels & Resorts, the GM provides strategic direction across all departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences, financial sustainability, and a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Front Office, Leisure, Security and other resort functions.
• Maintain the highest standards of accommodation, dining, leisure facilities and public areas.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, capital projects and operational compliance with brand standards.
• Drive daily operational briefings, monitor performance dashboards and KPIs.
• Engage personally with guests, resolve concerns promptly and continuously improve satisfaction scores.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor revenue, control labour and food‑beverage costs, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Foster constructive relationships with organised labour, union representatives and community partners.
