About the role
The General Foreman will lead on‑site activities for large‑scale residential and commercial developments. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures programmes are implemented safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Implement construction programmes and maintain accurate records.
- Perform setting out, surveying and levelling tasks.
- Oversee plant, equipment and machinery usage.
- Ensure SHEQ compliance, safety legislation and housekeeping standards.
- Supervise site staff and manage daily site administration.
Required profile
- Minimum NQF4/5 (TJEKA) qualification.
- At least 15 years of experience in construction/engineering environments.
- Experience in residential construction; commercial experience is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety legislation, staff supervision and basic IR.
Required skills
- Setting out and surveying.
- Plant and equipment oversight.
- SHEQ assurance and compliance.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Construction process knowledge and site administration systems.
