General Case Manager – Hospital

About the role

A vacancy exists for a General Case Manager at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to the Patient Services Manager. The role involves managing financial and clinical administrative risks for patients and units, ensuring high‑quality service and accurate clinical updates and coding.

Key responsibilities

• Maximise revenue by ensuring accurate coding and correct application of RSRT contracts.
• Monitor insurance verification, workflow processes and submission of accurate accounts to funders.
• Perform quality walk‑abouts, implement corrective measures and drive quality improvement programmes.
• Maintain patients’ clinical status, update length of stay, and manage discharge information and billing within required timeframes.
• Handle escalated concerns from internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with patient services policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Paramedics, Critical Care Assistants or related fields with current SANC registration.
• Knowledge of hospital patient services, case management processes, CPT & ICD coding and private‑hospital funder contracts.
• Strong problem‑solving, resilience and professional communication skills.
